Kurt Eaves, Vice President of Underwriting, Sales, and Service, Grinnell Mutual

Kurt Eaves joined Grinnell Mutual in 2012 and is the vice president of the Underwriting, Sales, and Service division. He oversees more than $470 million in written premium and a staff of over 200 in commercial lines underwriting, loss control, personal and farm lines underwriting, sales, billing and customer service, actuarial services, product development, and statistical reporting and compliance.

Eaves has spent his entire professional career in the field of property and casualty insurance and risk management, working with a wide variety of commercial businesses from small companies to Fortune 500 accounts. The functional areas he has worked in include loss control engineering, sales, marketing, underwriting, and retail insurance brokerage.

Eaves also serves on the board of directors for Grinnell Select Insurance Company, Grinnell Specialty Agency, Drive Spotter, Inc., the Global Insurance Accelerator, the Iowa AgriTech Accelerator, FarrPro, Inc., and Serious Social Media, Inc., and is a mentor for insuretech and agritech startups. 

He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1985 with a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering and holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate of Risk Management (ARM) designations.

As a leader in the P&C industry, Robyn Hahn has more than 25 years’ experience with national and international carriers.  In 2018, Robyn assumed the newly-created position of President of Small Business at Westfield, a role designed to help the company achieve its vision to be admired as a leading property and casualty insurance company distinguished in commercial lines excellence.

With Westfield’s concentrated focus on American small business owners, Hahn is driving a customer-centric culture determined to meet evolving customer expectations. Hahn leverages data and analytics and as well as a penchant for innovation to create meaningful experiences across the entire customer journey. Her emphasis includes delivering a superior agent experience through a powerful combination of relationships and technology.

Robyn Hahn, President Small Business, Westfield Insurance

Hahn joined Westfield in 2015 as Group Marketing and Corporate Communication Leader. Under her leadership, Westfield launched a new brand in the marketplace and delivered award-winning marketing campaigns to agents and customers. Hahn also led the development of a digital roadmap that delivered a new website and set the foundation for the company’s new customer portal.


Her credentials span agency management, sales and distribution strategy and execution, digital and operations, including call centers, processing, underwriting and risk control functions in addition to marketing and corporate communications.

Hahn earned her Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she is a Fellow of the Life Underwriter Training Council and a graduate of the Executive Development Finance Program at the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Scott Martin, Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO, Pekin Insurance

Scott Martin began his career with Pekin Life Insurance Company in 1976 as an underwriter trainee and continued to climb the ladder within the company since that time. He is a member of the Board of Directors of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate; Illinois Life Insurance Council; and Illinois Insurance Association. 

Martin and his wife, Joan, reside in Chillicothe, Illinois. They are the parents of two children and have two grandsons.

Gregory E. Murphy is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Selective Insurance Group, Inc. He led the company’s strategic growth to become a super-regional property casualty insurance provider that offers commercial, personal, flood and excess and surplus insurance across select regions in the U.S. Selective has been rated “A” (Excellent) or better for more than 85 years by A.M. Best. 
During his 39-year tenure at Selective, Murphy has accumulated broad experience in all aspects of finance and operations through positions of increasing seniority. Murphy joined Selective in 1980 as a member of the Finance department. He became Senior Vice President, Finance in 1994, Chief Financial Officer in 1995, and President and Chief Operating Officer in 1997. Two years later, Murphy was named President and Chief Executive Officer, and in 2000, he assumed the role of Chairman. In 2013, he transitioned to his current role. 
Murphy is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association as well as a member of the Board of Overseers at St. John’s University School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science.
