Alyson Van Hooser is a leadership keynote speaker and trainer at Van Hooser Associates, a leadership development company developing highly eﬀective leaders at all levels in the 21st Century workplace. Alyson is a trusted resource for companies and associations in the food service and ﬁnancial industries, as well as, government, emerging leader, and women in business events. She delivers presentations and training that equip and inspire teams and individuals to harness the power of eﬀective leadership to drive performance and proﬁts.
Because she was dealt a tough hand in life, Alyson developed a deep understanding and an unmatched passion for teaching others to own the responsibility to control their success. On her own since she was a child, Alyson hasn’t let that stop her. She is a former city councilwoman, banker, insurance advisor, manager, wife and mother of three - all before the age of 28. These life experiences have ignited a passion for understanding leadership, generational diﬀerences, communication, and personal development success.
Richard S. Pitts is Vice President and General Counsel to Arlington/Roe & Co., Inc., an insurance
brokerage and managing general agent headquartered in Indianapolis. Rick also serves as general counsel
to the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana, Inc. As counsel to the "Big I," Rick speaks annually at
the association's Agency Compliance Seminars and teaches various seminars on insurance and
employment related matters. Rick has also presented continuing education seminars to insurance
Rick is a 1983 graduate of Wabash College and a 1986 graduate of the Indiana University McKinney
School of Law. He clerked for the Honorable Patrick D. Sullivan, a judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals
in 1986-87. Rick is admitted to practice before Indiana state and federal courts, the United States Supreme
Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and is a member of local, state, and
national bar associations. He has tried cases and participated in over seventy appeals.
Rick has served as a panelist and lecturer on a variety continuing education subjects, including
cyber-related risks, the Americans with Disabilities Act, "Mold: Issues Under the Microscope" for the
Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF), and "Insurance Issues for Builders" for the Indiana
Builders Association. Rick has also served as chair of several ICLEF seminars, including "Advanced
Corporate Practice," "Privacy Law," and "Insurance Coverage Issues." Rick has also presented seminars
on "Insuring Fiduciary Exposures," "Insurance Coverage Disputes," and "Agency Succession and
Perpetuation." He has co-authored articles appearing in the Indiana Law Review.
